From Wellness to Wholeness
Feeling the pulse of life
Amawa “ama awa” means love for water or the way of water.
AMAWA is a transformative space that empowers women, guiding them toward personal liberation and harmony with the Earth through a deep connection with themselves, nature, and the wisdom of their body.
At AMAWA we see the womb as a house light, guiding us through the rites of passage in our womanhood. The womb is one of the most essential energy centers in a woman’s body. Is the expression of our sexuality and the fertile soil from where we create.
Devoted to the inner waters, AMAWA sees the womb as both a physical organ and a sacred cauldron that holds life, nurturing interconnection with the greater whole.
Through the womb, AMAWA creates the space for women to remember the core of their feminine cyclical nature by attuning with:
- The hormones
- The menstrual and ovulatory cycle
- The blood
- The Eros of sexuality
- The gifts and challenges from the ancestral bloodline lineages
- The different rites of passage as a woman
Personal Story
AMAWA was born alongside Ana Paula’s first child, conceived during a transformative visit to her family in Colombia. It embodies over 20 years of Ana’s dedicated studies, research, and profound spiritual experiences. AMAWA reflects her journey of personal growth in both life and motherhood and the wisdom she has gathered from working with women of diverse cultures, ages and socioeconomic backgrounds.
When a woman lives in alignment with her womb and true essence, she navigates life in coherence with her uniqueness. This connection allows her to embrace her sacred expression, sustaining her throughout life and becoming a caretaker and steward of herself first, and then of others, as an offering to future generations.
At AMAWA we honor the Mystery in everything we do. That which is unknown, uncertain and has its own way of moving through us.
AMAWA is for leaders and creators that hold space for other women, their family and communities, is for women’s health experts, womb keepers, birth keepers, educators, health couches and women devoted to the feminine ways.
The 6 Pillars
illuminate the pathway to a woman’s inner landscape:
Physiology
We learn about our physical territory, its elements, their function and components
- The endocrine system: glands and hormones
- The nervous system and its effect on the overall wellness of the body
- The role of fascia to heal trauma
- The bones as structures of support
- The importance of organs like the placenta in the healing of birth
Ecosomatics
We ground ourselves in the body, connect with our feelings and emotions and bring balance to the nervous system
- The energetic and physical relationship between hormones and emotions
- Nourishing practices to help the hormones & nervous system come back to homeostasis
- Identifying areas where we don’t feel and there is numbness
- Rooting ourselves and developing our felt sense of self in relationship with the Earth
Ancestral Wisdom & Ritual
We honor and acknowledge the influence of our ancestors and the wisdom of first nation peoples
- The work with ancestral lineages to heal transgenerational trauma
- Explore indigenous wisdom from South and North America to expand our perspective of life
- The use of ritual to connect with elements and forces beyond the physical realms
Plants & Herbalism
Throughout the life cycles of a woman there are plants and herbs that come to assist us in moments of change, to balance the body, to heal, dream and nourish us
- Building a relationship with the spirit of the plants
- Recognize plant allies
- The use of specific herbal recipes to bring balance to the womb and body
Healing Arts
Arts is the medium from which Amawa expresses and is one of the main tools we use to develop our connection to the womb through:
- Puppetry
- Ritual theater
- Dance
- Music
- Drawing and painting
Communion with the Circle
Amawa understands that sisterhood is one of the most ancient ways for women to grow together and hold each other during transformative times
- Sharing our stories is medicine for the soul
- Coming together by being mirrors of each other
- Finding our uniqueness within the circle, supports collective liberation
Welcome beloved, I’m Ana
I’m a mother, lover and wife. I’m an Ecosomatic Hormonal Health Coach, Embodiend Sexuality advocate and Womb educator from Colombia, now based in California. I have a Master’s in Medical Microbiology and for the last 7 years I have consulted women’s health organizations in LATAM and the US.
I specialize in supporting women through various stages of their sexual, reproductive and hormonal journeys. Focusing in women seeking to conceive, those experiencing hormonal imbalances, and individuals who want to deepen connection with their sexuality and womb wisdom – including the ones who have lost their physical wombs.
For the last 13 years I have been learning healing modalities and ceremonial practices from indigenous communities across the Abya Yala (Americas) allowing me to bridge Western and Ancient worldviews.
I’m a Chanupa carrier and I have received traditional altars and sacred tools like the Lakota Inipi sweat lodge, Humitos Sagrados and the Art of fermenting Chicha which I hold with so much honor and humility.
My intention with Amawa is to hold space for the rising of the feminine from a grounded…
